Oriental medicine is a system of healthcare which began thousands of years ago. It includes many forms of treatment, including acupuncture, acupressure, Chinese massage, Qi Gong, and others. Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin needles in specific points on the body to access your body's energy to promote health. Acupressure is the manipulation of points, and Chinese massage works in a similar way over larger parts of the body. Qi Gong is a gentle form of exercise.
Pain and other symptoms may result from a disruption in the energy flow. Restoring this flow to normal can enhance the overall state of being and assist your body to come into balance.
The main key to health in the Oriental system lies in balance. Your body heals itself when it is under the right set of circumstances, much like a garden grows well when it has the right amount of sunshine, water, and soil nutrients.
